Why Support Locally Grown?

Enhance your local economy: By purchasing produce and other items from local growers you are providing stability to your local economy through the support of local businesses.

Save natural resources: Buying locally makes you an invaluable link in the process of saving resources such as fossil fuels and packaging materials. Also, we are right here in your community so the expense of transportation and delivery is kept to a minimum.

Provide learning opportunities: Locally Grown supporters provide member growers the means to help educate our community about the importance of sustainable agriculture.

Supporting a way of life: The number of small farms in the United States has decreased dramatically in the last decade. Please help us preserve an honest and worthy means of making a living.

We believe that small, diverse, family-owned farms contribute to society’s overall health.

Why isn't there a traditional Farmers Market in the Clinton City Park this year?

In larger cities, such as Conway, Ar that has over 65,000 residents, local farmers gather in the cities to sell their produce because they are much more likely to sell all of their produce based on the population. They are business owners just as the mom and pop stores in town. They too must minimize their costs while maintaining quality items hoping their will be enough people to purchase their produce. This produce must be sold within days to remain fresh and give you the quality you deserve. By placing your order online, the farmer can pick the produce the day before you pick it up to provide you the most nutritious choice available. If you want produce that has been shipped for miles and is many days old, you know where to get it. :)Purchasing online allows them to save time and money while decreasing their losses and providing you the fresh produce you want! Times are changing folks.

I don't want to buy online. Will I still be able to buy fresh produce in Clinton?

Yes. The Dirty Farmers Market will still have fresh produce available from several growers and from their own gardens. This can be purchased at the Market during their open hours. Their is a much larger variety and quantity of items online. So produce is sold on a first come first serve basis. We will even help you order online inside the market if you are willing and looking for something we don’t have in the store.
